Why should ore be tested for separability

The beneficiation method and possible beneficiation index of main useful minerals in specific ores can be explored through the beneficiation test study, and the difference in beneficiation of different types and grades of ores can be identified, the recovery method, index and recovery value of associated useful minerals, the working principle and influencing factors of field equipment or part of operations can be found.

Why do the selectibility tests?

(1) Provide a basis for geological exploration departments to evaluate deposits, determine the industrial utilization value of minerals, formulate industrial indicators and guide further exploration work

In the early stage of exploration work, beneficiation methods and possible targets of main useful components in the deposit are preliminarily determined through the feasibility test study, and based on this, whether the deposit can be utilized through beneficiation under the current economic and technical conditions and guide further exploration work;

At the later stage of exploration, ore beneficiability test study can provide a basis for the preparation of the final reserve report and the determination of the principle flow of beneficiation.

(2) Provide basis for the design and construction of concentrator

Through the preliminary exploratory test of the selected ore, the possible beneficiation method, principle flow and possible beneficiation index can be preliminarily determined, which can be used as the basis for the beneficiation test study and preliminary design of the concentrator.

(3) Provide a basis for further improving or improving the process flow of the production site and improving the process index

After the concentrator is put into operation, there may be new problems in the production process, which requires us to carry out further experimental research work and improve the technical level of on-site production.

What are the main steps involved in a test for selectivity?

(1) Formulate ore beneficiability test research plan

According to the requirements of the entrusting party, clear the task of the test research, understand the geological characteristics of the deposit, ore properties, mining environment, the completed research work, etc., on this basis to complete the formulation of the research plan, and on the basis of the research plan to organize the test research work.

(2) Sample selection and preparation before research

The preparation and processing of samples usually include the following steps: screening, crushing, mixing, shrinkage, and some special samples need to be treated by means of dehydration and drying.

In addition to the above three beneficiation methods, there are different electrostatic and triboelectric separations according to the electrical properties of minerals, different hand selection and photoelectric selection according to the color or luster of minerals, screening and classification according to the size and shape of different leaching and extraction according to the chemical solubility of minerals.

(5) Selection and experimental research of beneficiation process

After determining the beneficiation method and condition test, it is necessary to determine a reasonable separation process according to the ore properties, and carry out the corresponding test study according to the determined process.

(6) Organizing and compiling research reports

After the completion of the test research, the test data should be sorted out and the test should be summarized. Only on this basis can the test report be prepared to reflect the research results.
